Vertical Reduction Furnace, Metal Magnesium Plant, metal Calcium plant

Vertical Reduction Furnace, Metal Magnesium Plant, metal Calcium plant

As a pioneer in nonferrous metallurgy equipment, HBMER offers integrated turnkey solutions tailored for metal magnesium and metal calcium smelting plants, with its independently R&D high-efficiency vertical reduction furnace as the core equipment. Distinguished from conventional furnaces, this equipment is compatible with both magnesium smelting (adopting Pidgeon process) and calcium smelting, boasting unique advantages in energy conservation, cost reduction and humanized design. Guided by the corporate spirit of "Integrity, Innovation, Collaboration, Win-Win", HBMER always puts project quality and integrity at the forefront, providing high-reliability, high-value solutions for global clients.

Vertical Reduction Furnace, Metal Magnesium Plant, metal Calcium plant
With profound engineering experience in magnesium and calcium smelting, HBMER has successfully accomplished more than 10 EPC projects for metal magnesium plants, over 20 renovation projects, and multiple segmented EPC projects. All projects have received high praise from clients and brought substantial economic benefits. We have accumulated complete design and installation drawings for over 10 metal magnesium and calcium plants, as well as drawings for more than 20 renovation and segmented EPC projects. You are cordially invited to visit any of the plants we constructed at your convenience, and we look forward to your on-site inspection in the near future.

Operational Principle:
HBMER’s vertical reduction furnace adopts an external-heating vertical retort structure, which is specially designed for both metal magnesium and calcium smelting scenarios. For magnesium production: under the conditions of 1200–1250 °C high temperature and ≤10 Pa high vacuum, calcined dolomite is reduced by ferrosilicon to generate magnesium vapor, which is then condensed into crude magnesium. For calcium production: it adopts high-temperature vacuum reduction technology, using calcium oxide and aluminum powder as raw materials to produce calcium vapor, which is further condensed into metal calcium. The scientific vertical structure ensures even heat distribution inside the furnace and stable reaction conditions, laying a solid foundation for high-quality product output.

Core Advantages (with Key Data & Unique Features):
- Compact Layout & Reduced Civil Engineering Costs: Only 2 sets of vertical reduction furnaces are required to meet large-scale production needs, which greatly saves plant floor space and reduces civil engineering investment compared with traditional horizontal furnace systems.
- Minimized Labor Requirement: For a metal magnesium production line with an annual output of 12,000 tons, the number of operators for the vertical reduction furnace is less than 70, which is 50% lower than that of traditional horizontal furnaces, effectively reducing labor costs for clients.
- Large Single-Tank Capacity & Humanized Cycle Design: The single-tank capacity of the vertical reduction furnace is 3 times that of horizontal tanks. Its 16–20 hour reduction cycle is specially optimized to adapt to the Islamic prayer customs of Iranian clients, realizing efficient production while respecting local habits.
- Low Labor Intensity & Green Working Environment: Equipped with mechanized top feeding and bottom discharging systems, it greatly reduces manual labor intensity. Combined with intelligent automatic operation system and on-site high-efficiency dust removal technology (referring to advanced dust control experience in metallurgical industry), it significantly improves the working environment and ensures the health of operators.
- Outstanding Energy-Saving Performance: Compared with traditional smelting equipment, the energy consumption per ton of crude magnesium can be reduced by 30%, which is in line with the global low-carbon and energy-saving development trend, and helps clients reduce operational costs substantially.
- Extended Service Life of Reduction Tanks: The vertical structure ensures uniform heat absorption of the reduction tank, avoiding local overheating or underheating. Compared with horizontal tanks, the service life of the reduction tank is extended by 30%, reducing equipment replacement costs and improving production continuity.

Main Technical Indicators:
- Total Gas Consumption: 2950 Nm³
- Power Consumption: 900 Kwh/t (production energy consumption)
- Labor Force: 200 people (including management team)
- Reduction Tank Configuration: 0.18 units per ton of magnesium
